Value Of Stamps?

New to this. I am looking for a place to look up the worth of my stamps. I have tons more, but these are a few. I apologize if this is posting in the wrong forum. Thank you in advance.

The four tax / excise stamps I can not help with - they are not listed in Scott.
The German Zeppelin stamp is worthless - it is badly damaged.
The rest is worth just pennies, they are very common stamps.

I have 2 from North German Confederation in the Scott Catalog (2009) the one with perfs if a good copy would be 65 cents while the imperf does not have a value listed in Scotts

Canada stamps above - value under 50 cents total

The blue 2¢ Canada Excise imperforate (bottom left) is FX98, cancelled by a cigarette company, worth 75¢ in the van Dam catalogue.

Leejb1, your imperforate item is a cutout from postal stationery (stamped envelope). I say this because I can see the embossing from your scan. Cutouts (cut squares) are not collected in Germany, because they can be from different sized envelopes, and so can not be definitely identified.

Unfortunately, The Scott catalog doesn't mention that there is postal stationery which looks like the stamp, and from which some unscrupulous people will cut the image, thus making it look like a rare variety.

First you have to identify the stamps by asking... here on SCF for example. With them identified you look at similar stamps on sale on sites such as ebay to get an estimate of their "worth". As you are "new to this" then you will soon learn that a catalog value of your stamps will be nowhere near reality.
You have two GB stamps... both will have probably been issued in the early 1960's with multiple crown watermark. Their value is low even though the stamps do look in good condition. The postmarks will detract from their value for instance... many collectors put greater value on clear,clean circular date stamp type postmarks but, even then, the value of the stamps is still low.





Your six pence stamp has slogan postmark dating from 1963. Even a complete slogan postmark on cover (envelope etc) would not raise the value much.
"I have tons more"... I look forward to seeing more in that case.

For general information of value on worldwide stamps, I use the On-Line catalog which is available for free. There is a limit of use if you don't register but registering is free. I have never been charged for anything here and have never received an email from them. A very nice resource. I find the prices on the nicer stamps is generally slightly lower than Scott value. But all in all you'll know if the stamp has value or not.
