Hi Ciletaliph

Pet peeve of mine. The Country is ColOmbia with an O and and not a U.

The stamp is a Postal Tax stamp:
Issued: 1946
Part of a set: 1/4c to 20c, Scott RA19 - R25a

Scott Number: RA23
Image ID: PT6
Description: .25

The monies were to be used to help pay for the new communications building.

"Columbia" is a perfectly acceptable English version of "Colombia", just as "Brazil" is for "Brasil".

Sorry GeoffHa I think you are wrong. The correct spelling of Colombia in English is Colombia. There has been an active internet campaign over the last few years to correct the incorrect use of Columbia by English speaking nations. This is a good way of remembering it

Hi

I agree with you ikeyPikey. They do say a picture is worth a 1000 words.

When did that start?
It is a pet peeve since my wife is Colombian (not ColUmbian).

Hi Ciletaliph

Sorry. When I did an edit I erased too much. It was supposed to be:

Description: 1c violet
Mint & used: .25 (25 cents)
