Please do not get me wrong. I do listnen to all of your advice. But to be honest I now do not have the the time to specialize in one topic/country/covers etc. I am indeed a newbie, collected a bit when I was younger (25/30) years ago. Stopped when puberty came and cars/girls etc. seemed to be more important :). Now inhereted a huge millions stamp collection, but mainly common global material. And it was/is a mess. Slowly as time allows it sorting it all out, and sell if people are interested. But in the 25 years when my hobby was turbocharged engines/cars and still is btw. I did not learn a thing anymore about stamps at all. When looking at all these stockbooks and albums I rather do not get rid of anything where there is just one example from (For now). But when somebody comes along and really wants something, then it is ok when I can purchase a simulair item back later on. Just had/have my doubts on this one, nothing to do with ignorance or something though.
I have some weak for us stamps,i do not know why, just tend to like them more then others country's sofar. In the last 6/7 months about a hundred thousand stamps passed the desk here. Pfff, I must be mad trying to make some sence of it all. Started first to get atleast the country's toghether, and guess what..i think I am at about 15%. But the us and australia seems to be about ok now. I do not think I have something special, but not sure at many things. Therefore also all those many questions etc. Looking things up in books is a no go for now. Although I could use some us specialized and australian catalogues to put them in order and then see what to do with the huge duplication. In the meantime I also am doing some custom tubular exhaust work for the eu. racers here...
I need more timeeeeee :).
So again, I need your opions and advice, but please do not think I don't take it.
Forums like this are a blessing for idiots like me, and I hope I can ask alot more in the time comming.
Thanks again for everything and hope you understand the situation a bit.
Kiss ;)
Remco
Ps..was this post 50..:).

remco, if you ever decide to sell the Zeppelin cover, give me a heads up. I would bid on it. I love Zep covers, especially quirky ones. |

Unfortunately most penny reds have very little value and huge numbers of them go unsold on ebay even when the starting bids are less than $2. And while there are a couple of rare plate numbers that make those valuable, most of the ones from those plates have already been identified. And, like covers, condition is a great importance - such as having a white margin on all four sides, not being faded, not having damaged perforations, etc. I like your car. Do you race it? I bet it is fast. |

The penny reds indeed are not that special. Looked into them just for a little while. For sure there is no 77 and the 225 probably not also. There are some more pages un the album though, bit more 2 pence blue and some "bantam" ones. From the last is atleast 1 plate 9 there, but as you said about condition, it not the best for sure.
This car is not mine. Just making the turbo setup for him. Its going to be quite nice. 550 hp and 650nm of torque is the aim for now. It is going to be used for hillclimbs in germany. Did you already guessed what it is? :).

I know kimo. Unfortunatly I know more about cars/engines etc. Then stamps ;).
There are some in the us now, imports ofcourse. And in some states some regulations have changed a bit to make import more easy for the filthty italian cars. I will drive it, but just a short run will be ok. But enough over this, wrong forum to talk about the other hobby's.
Thanks again for all the input!
@ stampcrow. Ofcourse I did not forget you. Do not worry ;).

@Stampcrow, well and maybe others. I listed the cover on ebay. Emailed you through the forum, but do not know if the message arrived. |

Not a zeppelin, but part of the regularly scheduled transatlantic airmail by plane, the "yankee clipper" service, that started in 1931. This cover would probably sell for $5-$10 on ebay. |
