10 Cent Small Queen Shades.

hi guys...Spent some time with Dr.Jim Watt at our local stamp club Monday..He laid out 10 cent Small Queen stamps for display...He wanted me to create a PDF file for all people on this form who are interested in the 10 cent Small Queen shades (colours).


CAN NOT UPLOAD PDF FILE..CAN ANYONE HELP..?

This is probably a good place to post this page. Hope it helps.
(I think the color rendering is pretty good relative to each other. How they appear on your monitors may be very different than they appear on my monitor).

There are at least two shades of the Pale Milky Rose Lilac. One is really pale and the other is pale but has a definite pink to it.





I think this is the missing shade, Perf 11.5 x 12. Sorry, Don't have 2 right now. But I don't think too hard to get.

I wish you guys could have seen the display Jim had of these stamps..every colour variety imaginable..Maybe one day I can convince him to let me scan these 10 sheets or so for everyone's enjoyment.

I would recommend to snap an image and not scan if Jim would likely allow that. Scanning can impact stamp especially those with delicate shades.

Are the colour of (used) stamps that have been soaked in water affected by it?

Suggest anyone interested should contact Maresch after the holidays and ask to buy a laminated Bowen colour chart (They handled Bowen's 10 cent collection a generation ago). Am sure they have a few left after all these years. As for price I do not know, probably under $10 shipped.

Maresch Chart may be more detailed. The one I am used to seeing is this one for $7 from Gary Lyon.
