For some time I have focused on better organizing my bureau precancels.

Got the PSS paper catalog, put all the bureaus in order by state/city/SC#/PSS style in Vario pages (leaving spaces for don't haves). That was the fun part....

After completing that task, I wondered "How many more of these puppies do I need to fill in the holes?"

After listing the don't haves in a Excel spreadsheet and doing a bit of math, I found that after several years of effort, I only have 55.5% of the 9366 possible. Some bureaus are rare birds and I may never have an example, but that's collecting...

My question to the bureau collectors out there:

"What % complete is your bureau set?"

Just curious...
Thanks.

At my best, I had about 90%... I have since sold some. FYI, with the PSS bureau database you can do some interesting measurements... if you had every bureau catologing 25 cents or less, you would have 6,762 different. Under a dollar is 8,190. A lot of stamps for low prices. There are 49 over 100$

Too funny Begonia. I just counted my effort a couple of days ago. Sounds like you're doing pretty well to me.

After saving and storing, but not specifically buying precancels over the past 20 or so years, I thought I had a lot. So I recently bought a K&P album and have been filling it from my hoard for several weeks. When I counted earlier this week... I'm only at 15%. Time to start buying.
