Russia Scott 1043 Meritorious Service Variety, 1946

I have two different copies of Russia Scott # 1043, one with background mesh lines and one with very faint/non-existent mesh lines. Scott only lists one variety. Stanley Gibbons (1178s), Zagorsky (965A), and Michel (1032C) all list varieties that are perf 12.5 x 12.5 instead of 12.5 x 12. But both of my stamps are 12.5 x 12. Michel also notes 1032C as a forgery. Any ideas what this stamp is?

the Lyapin catalogue mentions 2 varieties of the 12.5x12 stamp: one on light green background (presumably your second stamp) and one on yellow green background (both priced equally):
