Hi all This stamp has no country name. It has communist symbols, "3" in the upper left corner, possible zero on the upper right corner, letters Uh or Un in the middle, if it is in Latin letters, and what seems like the map of Vietnam on the left of the letters. Any ideas? Thanks *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Indeed. Thanks Any idea what the two letters stand for? Rubal in Armenian is #1404;#1400;#1410;#1378;#1388;#1387; or #1404;#1400;#1410;#1378;#1388;#1387;#1398; or #1404;#1400;#1410;#1378;#1388;#1400;#1410; |

The stamp is part of a series that was printed in Paris in 1921 and never delivered to Armenia because the state was subsumed into the USSR. |

Quote: If it wasn't delivered, is it fake? No, a stamp can be printed, but never used or "not delivered" to the post office for use. Doesn't mean it is a fake. I'm sure others more in the know that I am will also comment with more details. |

A fake would be an unauthorized imitation of something that was actually issued.

Hello again Rod, I just came across the same stamps you posted above in my own collection. Well 13 of them. Do you have any more information on them? I read in another forum post that they were not used or ready for use due to a lack of overprint. Is this accurate? Trying to learn more about these.

Thank you Rod. Mine were put in my grandfather's stamp album probably before 1940-ish so I am thinking original. And mine look just like yours.

There are a lot of forgeries of this issue. Rob Roy, yours is genuine per the J. Barefoot guide. But be aware the comparison points are usually tiny so it's hard to tell the difference. The correctly perfed ones are genuine.
Rod, it looks like you have a few forgeries mixed in. Remarkably, the 25000r high values are genuine, which are really scarcer than the catalog values show.

Thanks HB, that does not worry me at all, I am a pragmatic collector, if you care to identify those which you think are dodgy, I can pencil in on my album page, and look for comparisons when more arrive. I can toggle the issues and ID the dodgy, that helps my collection. |

The 25, 20,000r appear to be forgeries. The 3, 50, 500, 15000 and both 25000r appear to genuine. Images are a bit too small to call on the others.
Turtle and/or rod, if you are inspired/curious enough, start a new post on these and put up images about double the size that rod shows above, and I will go stamp by stamp. I can only find ONE stamp of the issue in my collection. Hmph. Not going to put up copies of Barefoot pages for obvious reasons and also because the images are murky. Can even do the 1922 pictorials w/o overprint where I have a few of the forgeries at hand. |
