The collection I won last week arrived yesterday and I'm impressed! There are about business and manila envelopes and 40-60 glassine envelopes, as well as a box and two albums stuffed with stamps. Upon opening the box, I found two old stamps, one "Five Dollars- Newpaper/Periodicals" 1888 U.S. stamp and one "Stempel Marke" 1875 stamp. Most of the stamps are pre-1960 with a lot from 1900 to 1940.

The smaller hardcover album has a lot of stamps that are stuck down (need help with this one!) but the larger albums is in great condition with several countries that are 90% complete. I'll post individual stamps under the appropriate headings as I begin the task of sorting and indentifying over the next few weeks.

Needless to say, I'm extremely excited!

Here's a few pics:

With the stuck down stamps I would just go ahead and soak the page as long as it might meet these conditions.
1. The stamps are used
2. There would be no issue with saving the album to begin with.
3. Remove all other ones prior as possible.

Also, great buy! Never know what may come in these type of lots.

That's one good thing about big mystery lots - you get to be a kid at Christmas over and over again every year.
