Its HOCKEY, just plain hockey.
Hockey is Canada's national sport and gift to the sporting world.
Anything similar to hockey played anywhere else than on ice may need a modifier such as "field", "road", "virtual", or even "bed-sheet".
"Pond Hockey" has become more popular in recent years; but,the very first hockey games were played on ponds and kids ever since have been playing hockey on ponds, lakes, rivers and anywhere there is ice.
Yes, there is the International Ice Hockey Federation; but, to be kind, that is probably a misnomer that gained popularity because of ignorance.
So, now we know know: its just plain hockey.
Don't get me started on the misuse of the word FOOTBALL.

I call it "hockey" too, but I don't make the rules, really.

Same with football/soccer.
