My intent is to photograph so I ended up with 2 Raytechs (more even lighting) and will built a little fixture to mount them.

Family,

The Raytech 10-24 Veralume 4 watt UV lamp have very poor reviews on Amazon. I really need a good one for my UK stamps. Any suggestions?

Jack, I have answered this question before but can not find the post. Way back I bought a small hand held battery job from an outfit in Texas, called UVtools. It worked great but ate batteries as all of these do, so I only use it when at a show or shop somewhere.
Two years ago I decided to upgrade and ordered their better unit, but they were out of stock and sent me the een larger unit. It is a beauty, and it shows all of the nuances that tagging has to offer. Their website is www.ultraviolet-tools.com .
I also have a Raytech but am less impressed with it.

Peter,

I just placed an order with UVTools based upon your writeup from a while back. They are offering an 11 watt lamp (their best) for a$75- sale price, regularly $125-. I will let everybody know how it works once I receive it. It has very positive reviews. My UK collection has been languishing because of this.
