Scott # 90 - King Edward VII

Hi guys...Take a look at these 3 stamps.


A - Only noticed this cancel in 1911 cancelled stamps..The date was hand punched (date only) so hard it made a bulge out the back of the stamp..Noticed it on a few of them.

B - Look at the "ORK" part of the cancel..They have a small O and large O...Small R and large R..Small K and large K...Strange.

C - Is this an imperforate stamp..?

It's a booklet stamps with the perforations cut to make it look like an imperforate, you can see the remnant of the perforation at the bottom. It's sad, because a booklet stamp have more value than a regular one

I think that two different hammers were used on the same stamp.

You are overanalizing.

Stamp 1: it is very easy to insert the time and date slugs into a handstamps and not check that they are planar before tightening them in place. In this case the "11" stuck out too far and pressed into the stamp.

Stamp 2: Simply double-struck. The first impression is the darker/stronger one and took most of the ink off the handstamp, then it bounced a bit for the second lighter impression in a slightly shifted position.

STamp 3: trimmed as noted above.

Quite seriously, I`m very fond of wert`s posts and his meticulous eye.
