I have found this cover with an extended history written on 2 sides of small paper.

That paper seems to be more interesting than cover... however, a very nice set, I would say... :)

My knowledge of German language is poor... so, if anyone can help me with the understanding of the not, I will appreciate.

Interesting cover, filipo
However I find the handwriting more of a challenge than the German...

It's as if those darn Germans have a different word for everything.

They do! ArtfulHinger, Way back when I was in school our German teacher taught us the longest German word:
"Reichsangestelteneisenbahnknotenpunkthinundherschalter". Want to know what it means? Switchman. Like on the railroad!

My German's not great, but here's the gist of it:

"October 7, 1926

Airmail (franked 1.78 Rubles)

The back side of the letter shows that it was sent from Moscow on 7 October 1926 and arrived on 8 October 1926 at the Berlin C2 airmail post office (8-9 in the morning arrival), and was already in Karlsruhe by 6-7 in the evening."

The underlined text at the bottom pf page 1 is tough to decipher, but I believe it's something about it taking less than 24 hours to arrive. The bottom of page 1 is a question -- proof of a direct air route, but from where?

Page 2 is the important part, the theoretical answer to the question. But unfortunately, the script is too tough for me to make out. I can make out the words stempel (cancel) and postamt (post office), and the conclusion (I. Expedition). This really calls for a native speaker.

Your English is excellent, PostmasterGS! Just as always. Thank you very much for the translation. It looks that someone has been very interested in the history of this old partial cover.

Blaamand, TheArtfulHinger and Petert4522... thank you for your posts, too! :)
