Perfins...?

Hi guys..Was wondering if Unitrade should start including Perfins in their catalogue..?? (other than O.H.M.S.)

Also - Unitrade has good data on all of the Precancel/Perfins/Prepers in their Precancel Catalog.

Is this a separate catalogue..??

By the way, I was at the Atlanta APS winter show the past three days. Someone there had 16 (!) Unitrade catalogs priced at $35.00 and sold all except three the first day! I got a chance to look at one ( for the first time ever ) and I was extremely impressed. Your catalog is far better then the Scott!

If not, where can one buy this catalogue..?

Robert, I am not very familiar with perfins, but Chasa gave a link above to the BNAPS perfin handbook and according to him it is a free lookup!
By the way, I was just kidding earlier!

Robert, I tried to come up with a Unitrade precancel catalog, and I am unable to! I did find a website with the name Vista ( I googled ) and there is a Canadian precancel catalog but it says Uni-safe on it! That may be what is referred to as a Unitrade catalog.
If you google "Unitrade precancel catalog" you get two E-bay links for two different Canadian precancel catalogs!

The answer is....No. The number of Canada perfins is small and the added pages to needed to reference all the permutations of Stamp versus perfin would more than double the size of the Unitrade catalogue, which would increase the published price, while providing no accurate pricing reference.

The BNAPS handbook is the current reference for Canada Perfins (link provided previously by chasa, which is updated monthly with new perfins! Yes. New ones are still being found. Which makes this area of collecting interesting.

A basic Scott 232 with a Quebec Liquor Commission (Perfin 5th Ed. ID# is "Q01") would typically have a value of $0.25.

The word 'basic' in the prior statement is included as each perforated initials has the possibility of being orientated on the stamp in eight (8) variations (not including multiple strikes).

Here are two 'basic' orientations, which would be in the $0.25-$1.00 range:

Orientation 1: Perfin 232-Q01-1 "Q/CLQ/C", Quebec Liquor Commission


Orientation 5: Perfin 232-Q01-5 "Q/CLQ/C", Quebec Liquor Commission


The next one is Orientation 7 Perfin 232-Q01-7 "Q/CLQ/C", Quebec Liquor Commission, which would be in the $1-$5 range:


If you have a orientation that is "2", "4", "6", or "8" then those would be at an even higher price.
