Thought you all might like to see these - three different uses of the One Cent of the 1859 First Cents issue:

On a wrapper with the original Prices Current sheet still in place:



On a newspaper (love the name of the paper):



To mail a 90-page magazine:



One interesting thing about this magazine/pamphlet - the stamp was applied before the magazine was bound - look at the string used to bind the pages - it goes through the stamp.

Circulars and other printed matter can be fun. The junk mail of its time.
