I'm setting up this topic to list the pertinent information on the technical details of the Postal Service Press Sheet program.
Feel free to add your thoughts and observations.
Please inform me of any typos or other errors that you find.
Most of the information that I have listed is taken from the Postal Bulletin. Some of it may be from the actual press sheets.

I believe the Global Moon stamp will be $1.20. I use quite a lot of these and I do not believe that the Postal Service is going to be cheaper mailing overseas!

Just like the USS Arizona Express Mail stamp last year, the "press sheet" that the USPS is selling of the Columbia River Gorge "EXPRESS" Mail stamp is actually a mini-press sheet. According to the sheet diagram on the reverse of each pane, there are 15 panes in a real press sheet. However, the USPS has decided to cut the press sheets down. If I remember correctly the publicity information for the Arizona sheet actually mentioned it was a mini-press sheet.

Called today to see if the Moon global forever press sheets were available for preorder. The answer is YES for sheets with die-cuts and NO for sheets without die-cuts. Price per sheet is $120 so I would assume 10 panes per press sheet. Is it possible that the no-die-cut sheets are already sold out via subscriptions? |

JLLebbert, I called today also and was told that items are being added during the day. The clerk suggested that I try again in about 3 hours. I suspect that the no-die-cut press sheets will be available before they close tonight at 8 p.m. |

If no die cut sheets are "sold out" before they go on sale to the public, I think I'd complain to my Senators and Representative about that. The only stamp I've been interested in lately was the USCG stamp, and I got two no die press sheets, the first one ordered before release, and the second one after release. Not as much demand for those relative to supply apparently. But if someone has access to purchase them prior to them being available to the public, that does not sound right. |
