Ah, the joys of the charabanc! We see these on vintage rallies occasionally. I can see that they really trust the tyres (as we call them over here). The suspension on these things os so bad that you're just as good using solid one.

I've just come from the gym, and can do a very good impression of a creaky old chassis.

Yes, the charabanc is a part of 1920s-1950s culture in the UK. It would take families on holiday (sometimes even bring them back), provide the open topped tours of dismal seaside towns in the howling wind and driving rain, take miners to galas, male voice choirs to rugby matches, football supporters to matches, etc. There's even a Dylan Thomas short story about a charabanc.

I picked this up in Latvia back in the early 90's. It's not postally used but the subject is something you don't see very often. Not a commercial postcard either but a RPPC I'm guessing somewhere from the 1930's. The people in the front row are intrigued by something in the grass in front of them. The term 'kangari' on the back is a reference to the topography and not a location on a map. Apparently there were a couple of areas in Latvia with land forms like that.

Here are a few from my collection. The colour chromo cards were a type of snowmobile that transported sightseers and skiers to the different ranges within the Rocky Mountain system. I know that they are not a tour bus per se, but, thought they could fit in to this thread (?)
