Wow. No idea what that is. You get that when you first open it, before you've loaded any scans? Does it go away if you click the reset button (the little yellow square at bottom left, in the footer toolbar).
To anyone else reading this thread, anyone else get that? And if so/if not, what version are you using (Win 32, Win 64, Mac)? |

That's bizarre. Is your Windows 7 installation 32- or 64-bit?
At first glance, I suspect it might be related to your video card drivers, but go ahead and try uninstalling and re-installing. |

Deleted V1.21 and 1.29 Cleaned the registry, and shortcuts Did a reboot Re-Installed v1.29 Same result Puce. Would Java have any input? I have not updated for a while. No big deal Postmaster, I can live with that, until you have time to get others results.

Rod,
It doesn't look like a Java issue. Did you install the version with JRE bundled or the "light" version? If you're running the version with JRE bundled, it's almost impossible for it to be related to your Java version, as the app would use its own bundled version.
I fear it's related to your video card driver, in which case I don't expect anyone else to report the same problem, but we'll see. You might check to see if ATI has a newer driver for the X600 than the one you're using. |

Rod,
I should also ask, does it go away when you load an image, or is it still visible in any way? |

Hi Postmaster, Sheesh ! I am a real dunce, sincere apologies, I had downloaded the light version ( how I managed that is beyond me) I can confirm, because I always keep a copy of any install, in case I get a virus or black screen. I know the culprit. I can see I used the NON JRE I'll install the JRE copy and assume all OK, I'll post if I have any problems. Very sorry to inconvenience you! |

I have been exonerated. Still get the Puce with the JRE (No big problem though) We shall accept is is my video problem.
Installed an updated Java etc.
Everything else works perfectly, I sit Stampfix on my top screen, and my scanned strips on lower screen, and do drag and drops. Perfect.
I can now do say up to 200 scans, then drag and drop in one session, up to hundreds of stamps just employing the mouse. Bravo! Postmaster.

Rod,
I'll keep playing with it and see if I can figure out what might be causing that. The fact that it started doing that post-1.21 gives me a good starting point, as that means it has to be something in the modifications I made to implement the drag-and-drop. It may be difficult to diagnose, as I can't replicate it on any of my 4 computers, but I'll at least try to troubleshoot it a little more. Can you post or e-mail me a screenshot of the entire StampFix window when it shows the corruption? Knowing exactly what portion of the center area it occupies might help me to figure out which of the elements that occupies that space isn't playing nice.
WRT the workflow you describe above, don't forget that you don't have to drag and drop the scans individually. You can drag and drop a whole folder at once, or select multiple files and drag them at once.
BTW, I learned a new word today -- puce. Had to look that one up! |

Shall do Postmaster. drag and dropping multiple files, gets even better! I am not far off purchasing a new Lenovo desktop with decent memory. When I load a single batch from image, the colour block disappears, If I drag and drop, it just sits there and does not impede.

Postmaster, I just thought it warranted a broadcast on my appreciation for "Stampfix". I may have a peculiar looking interface, but it in no way inhibits the working of the program. I processed a few hundred Lithuania, and Latvia yesterday, together with 50 or so Russian this morning, the drag and drop is just marvelous, everything is hands free. So, well done you. I didn't think it possible, but my enjoyment of Philately has jumped a notch. |

1 "bug"? I would bring to your attention, in my version.
Subsequent to a batch image process, the last image processed, will refuse to be "renamed" as it is tethered to the Stampfix program. I cannot recall what message I was met with, but I have to exit stampfix, to enable renaming. No big deal for me though.

Rod,
WRT the bug, let me do some experimenting. Just to make sure I'm understanding it correctly... You drag an image into the app for a "Batch From Image," and then you go to rename the resulting output files, and the last one of those can't be renamed because Windows thinks StampFix still has it "open"? |
