Australia post has slowed down local mail deliveries up to 6 days in some cases and I feel this has had an affect on incoming international mail. I get loads of stamps mails from USA & UK. These seem to be taking much longer to get to Sydney. An envelope from France to Sydney posted airmail early January just arrived. Parcel from England to here used to take 2 weeks I am now seeing the same size parcels taking 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. Is this a slow down caused by Australia post or is there slow mail problems in UK at present? I am also wondering if anyone else is feeling a slow mail affect, so please comment here if you have noticed the slower mail.

Touching wood, but I'd say postal services have been extremely good in the UK for several years. Items seem to reach people on time, and very little goes astray. I lost two of around 700 ebay lots last year.

Could be Shane Warne's aliens intervening with Australia Post.

Yes, regular first class mail seems to take twice as long. A letter took four (!) days to get from the local post office to me just last week!

Terrible service from the post office already existed maybe my local po only slowing down everything not just local mail but all overseas mail. Really disappointing. The Oz post boss earns 4 million + a year and donates it. What a joke. I should mail myself a letter to and see how long it takes to deliver.

A letter I received in Florida (USA) last week took 12 days after being date stamped at the Canadian post office.

I'm sure that the delay in the USPO.

The first half of January, things slowed down, but the USPS is back to normal - except a couple of days when the drivers didn't venture out onto the snow-laden roads.

Mail between here and Chicago (where most of my wife's family still is) is dependably awful. Mail between here and almost anywhere else in the continental USA is fast enough for me, and quite reliable.

This calendar year, I have come to expect an extra day's transit time for First-Class mail within the United States, compared to what I have become accustomed to over the years, even within town. This could be a fluke, but it is happening so reliably to me that there does seem to be a slowdown by the USPS as well.
