I do not know what to say. I stumbled by chance across this person trying to buy from him a collection of the German States . I have talked with him and he sent me email with pictures what is for sale , and frankly I was surprised . It comes from a region of my country where the population is mostly of German origin , which would make sense on provenance . He said that he have rarities for sale if i'm interested , I said yes , and he sent me pictures of three stamps which when I found its value ( if it was genuine ) made me say wow . But I better show them to you too . I want them in my collection even if it were forgeries ... But its way over my budget for sure
Well im pretty sure he have some forgeries on his collection. I feel i`m stuck, he have some collections that I want, but looking at catalogue values makes me reconsider my pick because of forgeries.
The stamp that 'dopsen' posted was the design used by the "Afrika Korps" in WW II by Rommel's forces. As already stated, it does appear to be a fake (?)
