A ratty ole cover, but decent advertising and an 'unclaimed' hand stamp.
Best part is the contents. Nice company letter head stationary. Four page letter, eventually talks about a flood that happened, Monday following the Oct 2nd Sabbath. It talks about a torrent of rain and a dam giving way.

I can't read all of what's written, but some of what it says is...

"In less time than it has taken me to write this the pond was empty. The gas house gone. The engine house gone also the plating room & solutions. The outhouse shed and ?? shop all carried away."

He also mentions the "boiler was carried about ??." Then underlined is..."Mr. Simpsons says we'll be running again in two weeks"

Great letter. In nice condition.

That's really cool.

On an ironic side note, I used to deal with a company in Wallingford that bought and repaired cars with salvaged titles. The cars they bought were usually involved in floods :)
