My first thought was that PT Barnum had it right, "There's a sucker born every minute" |

I thought I'd seen this discussed here before, but cannot find a thread on it. I also recall that it previously started out at a lower figure. When it didn't sell at that figure, the seller raised the asking price. Seems like he skipped school the day they discussed price theory. |

The ultimate LOVE LETTER. I'm ALL SHOOK UP over this and I'm a little MOODY BLUE too. It would leave me IN THE GHETTO if I bought it! But if I did try I'd end up doing the JAILHOUSE ROCK since I do not have enough GOLDEN COINS. Maybe I will need to go to HEARTBREAK HOTEL or play with my HOUND DOG. If I had it MY WAY this LONESOME COWBOY would like to see that price come WAY DOWN! I may have been RAISED ON ROCK here in the PROMISED LAND but I'm not A PUPPET ON A STRING, not a RAGS TO RICHES story! I've decided I would RETURN TO SENDER because my SUSPICIOUS MINDS says it's just TOO MUCH! Not worth the TROUBLE! |

This was on "Pawn Stars" -- or one of the clones -- some time back. I laughed so hard that I honestly fell out of my chair! Like my mom sez... "Some people..." |

Interestingly, the seller is a member of this forum. Hopefully, "The Philatelist" can respond and tell us why he thinks it is worth so much.

Can think of better things to do with a million dollars! Wonder what his listing fee is for it? One would have to be nuts to buy it. |

This has been up for some time now. It will be up for a long time in the future as well. |

This one doesn't bother me. It's not misidentified or misleading. Well, I don't know if it is the most valuable or the first cancelled, but it certainly seems to be a unique piece. If someone does cough up a million for it I would be very surprised, but at least we would know the buyer can easily afford it. Not like they are blowing the rent money or their kids are going to go hungry. Just a crazy rich Elvis junkie. |
