Sellers should understand that if they accept payment by Paypal, the buyer can request and receive a refund for any reason whatsoever (particularly if the item has not yet been shipped). The only way to avoid this is to only take cash or checks and then fight it out in court if they think refund is not due.

I could spin many retail stories, some customers will try to pull all kinds of BS. We sold those airline pet carriers and had many people buy them, use them to take Fido to the vet, and then try to return them. (Like they would have been ok if I had sold them a used carrier that had previously had a sick animal in it.)

Heck I finally closed the store after one customer, upon being told up front that we would not special order an item for him, assaulted my wife by splitting in her face. (We had him arrested, he was tried and convicted.)

In my opinion, just move on. It's frustrating but life is too short. Perhaps the best way to 'get back' on this customer is to make new, additional sales from him. Running a customer off so you never make a dime on them doesn't help you much. (Although I acknowledge their are some people that it is best to end the relationship with.)

Refund the customer. Add the extra items to your stock. Someone else will buy them. Paypal will not care one whit about your side of the story and instruct you to refund in any case. Choose your battles wisely

I'm sure you have better things to do with your time.

I decided to refund the customer and used my credit card to cover the difference that I did not have available. Curiously, after my refunding, my supplier suddenly got a change of heart and offered to buy back what he had sold me but for less than what I had paid him because he had an interested customer. Something here seems fishy to me so that I am holding off from taking another loss. It is possible that it may be the same customer trying someone else after getting their money back or maybe the customer is in cahoots with my supplier.

I'd find a new supplier. I'd make the old supplier know it too.

I agree with KGB. I would be very frank and tell the supplier of your experience and just maybe he too is being played by the very same buyer.

If they do offer you less than you paid, I would decline to return the items if you believe you can eventually sell them yourself without a loss.

Sometimes the experience will be the benefit for you to have learned how to protect yourself in the future. It may not be worth doing anything and just move on putting the experience behind you.

There will always be buyers who create issues which end up not being a good experience and often blocking them or not dealing with them again is all you can do.

Good luck in whatever you decide works best for you.

jogil, if you're stuck with extra Vario pages, maybe I could buy some from you. Otherwise, I just go to Amazon.

Have a friend I buy from and they took a big, big hit on a large amount of sheet stamps for mailing that a business bailed out of the deal at the last minute in the last hour.

9 month later his business has really taken off and looks like a full time happening for him now.All because he had all this stock that he he had to sell.

Now he is doing big deals all the time.

He turned a bad situation into something special. Totally upset to really getting there.

Never give up!

We missed a lesson in life here ,that I learned as a securities trader. Never enter into a business transaction that would put more than 30% of your funds at risk . Your doing transactions that are too big for you to handle .
