Scott lists this as 502. I have shown two versions, the left one seems to be the picture in Scotts, while the right one has a completely different RF overprint, along with a slightly different color. The note in Scott says,

"The overprint RF in various forms, with or without Lorraine Cross, was also applied to stamps of the French Sate at Lyon and fourteen other cities."

Q1: Does anyone know the city? Is this from Lyon?

Q2: On closer inspection, the right stamp appears to be a slip print, both to the right and downward. It even looks like it may be a double slip print as I see two distinct images at the bottom. Any idea what this is?

The stamp on the right was issued in Lyon - which is a city in the Rhone department. Issued were 240,000 sets of 15 overprints each. The Michel catalog values the set at €45.

Several French cities issued overprinted stamps at the liberation. The "national" and Lyon types are those that usually turn up. One of the auctions I bid in had a large lot for sale recently

Unfortunately, they went for around £1,500, well outside my price range!

Thanks to all. It looks like the consensus is that the left stamp is the very common one, and the right stamp is the less common Lyon overprint. (Though not one to take to the bank!) I'll keep looking, and thanks to SCF again.
