Anyone collect these? I know there is a reference out but sells
for $50 and these stamps are hard to find.
The cancelled Texas example dates from about 1880 from what I can
research about the bank.Any info about this stamp would be appreciated.

I also have some proofs of this same design that I am willing to sell or trade.
If anyone is interested in the proofs let me know.

I have the book (James Drummond's "Bank and School Savings Stamps"); this is catalog number IcSB5, the only stamp listed for this institution. The catalog indicates that the bank was founded in 1874 and the name changed in 1902 to the Texas Bank and Trust Company, then to the United States National Bank at the end of 1923. Location was 2201 Market Street. It became of Frost National Bank in 2000.

I have a few of these that I view as forerunners for my postal savings exhibit but I don't collect them across the board.

Hi paperhistory, Thank you for the information.I wonder if the name change was due to the 1900 Galveston Hurricane?
