Concession stamps are only for use within Australia so I thought I'd show them here.

Pretty stamps, especially the one with the country outlined on the beach! Does this mean these can not be used on international mail at all? Here in the States we can use First Class stamps on any kind of mail as long as the correct amount is paid!

Thanks Al.

Seems like at least they do something for
seniors down there.

Then again who mails 250 letters a year nowadays?

Is it allowed for a senior to give his
concession stamps to a non-senior to use?

Lithograving

There seems to be plenty for sale on ebay .I guess non-seniors are not allowed to use them but are buying them from seniors as you need to show a card to purchase them from any P.O.

How would they know if a non-senior was using them? Can they only be used on handed directly to a postal worker instead of being put in a mial box?

Ah yes,

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new collection of the Australian Concession stamps,
thinking I could keep up to date and be complete.

BUT – We are talking Australia Post here. So what do they do? They issue a gummed miniature sheet which is only available in the annual collection album which costs $134.95. So, to obtain that I either pay out for the collection which I do not want and be lumbered with leftover stamps and an album I do not need, or pay a dealer $20 or so for the sheet.

My solution is to go without and simply keep the paperwork connected to it.

However it really irks me the way A.P. try to wheedle every cent possible from collectors, particularly, in this instance, as the stamps are designed for Pensioners.

Give with one hand, take away with another (grin)

The scans show the card needed to buy the concession stamps and the receipt at point of sale of the booklet.
Regards
Ron
