Maybe a slow day at the Thor post office! But it's looks like that the Rev. Robinson may have prepared the cover, sent it to the PM and asked for it to be sent back. The red ink in the address and the air mail markings look similar.

I agree with Don. This looks like a philatelic creation, with the Via Air Mail stamp applied by the sender almost as a kind of cachet. The sender may have like to collect airmail covers with postmaster signatures.

Interesting. It would have looked better with the Rev and Oyster Bay in blank ink. In my opinion.
