Hi guys...i have about 12 of these stamps, some with hand cancel and some with normal cancel.

2 questions..?

1 - What is the signature "the huues"...Is it the cancellers name...?
2 - What dos the cancel "N.E.M." stand for..?

Thanks Robert

Believe the N.E.M. mat stand for the Nevada Mining company, that was their initials back in the late 1800's.

I strongly suspect that your guess of "Huues" is not a correct transliteration. On both there seems to be a dot for an i. "Himes," perhaps? Regardless, manuscript cancels are not worth a premium, especially off document. Do you know what kind of document that came from?
