Chris, I'm using the same binders, though not exclusively in 3". Avery makes them in 1", 1 1/2", 2", and 3", and I use a bit of all of them since some of the areas of my collection deserve their own binder, but don't fill a 3". The binders have worked well for me. I've had bad luck with some of the name-brand stamp album binders in the past, specifically with the quality of the spine and the ease with which the rings get misaligned. Since I move a lot for work, this was a large source of frustration and $$$ down the drain. I haven't had that problem with the Avery binders. They're not designed to be especially pretty or fancy like some stamp albums, but they'll take a beating and still function properly. Plus, I like the ability to insert a custom cover and spine. As to pages, it varies a little depending on what's on the pages. For my albums that are primarily stamps (not covers or postcards) in mounts on 67 lb paper, I can comfortably get about 200ish pages in a 3", though I could realistically get about 10-20 more without causing the pages to lay incorrectly in the album due to overstuffing. I have 5 binders finished at the moment (4x3" and 1x1") and several more of varying sizes that are partially filled since I still have quite a ways to go in getting my entire collection mounted. I anticipate I'll end up with about 10 total, or maybe a few more since I think I'm going to have to split up a couple of the 3" binders into 2x2" -- I can't stop buying stamps... Here's my Third Reich album with about 200 pages. In the background is my WWII Occupations binder (approx. 230 pages), which I'm going to have to split because it's already too full, and I still have several occupied territories to go. |

Hard to find the words to express these pages, If that is not perfection, I don't know what is. Quote: I can't stop buying stamps...
...at least that is one thing we share. |

Quote: A little detail on the physical albums:
Paper -- Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol, 67 lb, 8.5" x 11", Cream color PostmasterGS, I'm trying to settle on the "right" paper for printing my pages. I have a nice 70lb paper, but it feels too light when the page is full of mounts. Also, the back of the page appears "wavy" will all the mounts, which I really hate. I thought about putting my pages in page protectors, but that adds extra bulk and cost. Interestingly, my 70lb paper says it is 104 g/m3, whereas your 67lb paper is listed as 147 g/m3. Are you happy with the thickness of your paper, especially when you have a full page of mounts? Maybe there's a difference in "Vellum" vs. "text" paper? |

I'm happy with the paper. I had previously used 100 lb, but it was just too thick. I haven't noticed any waviness with my current paper. My only semi-complaint is that the pages don't lay completely flat in the album, since I tend to place the mounts in the same spots on each page and the paper thickness isn't enough to lay flat under those conditions. The Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol is about $15-$20/ream at Office Depot/Office Max or Amazon. If you'd like, you can send me your mailing address and I can send you a dozen sheets to test with. |

I finally got around to the one German colony I hadn't yet touched -- Kiauchau. I had held off because it's the most difficult to collect and I have tons of holes. It's a small update, but here are a couple samples: Also, I recently added dozens of new Marine Schiffspost cards to my Ship Post collection, so I've added those pages to the Ship Post section as well: |

PostmasterGS, amazing pages. It's obvious that you've put a lot of time in designing them, great job! |
