Back on Kionga for a moment, yesterday I went back through about 10 years worth of Portu-Info, the quarterly journal of the International Society for Portuguese Philately (www.portugalstamps.com I've been a member 29 years). There are a few other varieties of these issues besides the shades that Tim H showed. One seen about 10 years ago was a stamp with missing Republica, but had the overprint for Kionga intact. Another shown by Dr. Andrews in his Von-Lettow Vorbeck exhibit book is a variety with most of the red overprint missing. He said they were very uncommon. I'm fortunate to have one of those, with an ISPP cert, a photocopy of which I had shared with him couple years ago.
