Query About Bosnia Hertzgovina Stamp

i know topics should be accompanied by a photo. I cant get access to camera so I thot I would ask anyway. it concerns bosnia hertzgovina 2K stamp kuk series. my stamp has franz joseph looking left. all other 2ks I have seen he is looking foward.my stamp also has feldpost where the rest of the seris has military. can anyone clarify?

What you are describing sounds like Austria #M44 in Scott, 2k dark gray on blue paper. Do you have access to a catalogue to verify?

Easy mistake.

the one I have is indigo on blue so its not far away. thanks again

KuK = "Kaiserlich und Königlich", that is "Imperial and Royal". "Feldpost" of course being "Fieldpost". These were stamps that Austria issued in the areas it occupied in WWI such as Italy, Albania, the Balkans &, what is more interesting for me, Russian-Poland.

The first stamps for occupied Russian-Poland were issued on 28 April 1915 & were a set of 21 Bosnia Hertzgovina Military Post stamps diagonlly overprinted "K.U.K./FELDPOST"



The 2nd set, of which yours is a part, comprised of 27 values issued between 1 July 1915 & 1917, & includes the words "K.U.K. FELDPOST" as part of the design.

Here's a cover with 2 values from this set, censored, dated 26 Oct 1918, from Miechow.

Bumping this thread out of frustration....
I am trying to mount a set of the KuK Feldpost overprint stamps shown above and cannot find where in Scott 'Big Blue' they fall under (nor can I find them in the Scott catalog). I've looked under Bosnia, Poland, Russia. I just got out of dialysis a little while ago and have little wind in my sails so perhaps I am just missing it?
