I have an old catalog that lists this at $22.50.
Has that changed any? The hinge is still attached to the back.

Thanks.

Well, my 2010 SG prices both the 5c lilac and the grey at £2.20, so $22.50 looks high.

My 2000 Scott Catalogue lists Cuba #126 unused at $16.00 and my Scott 2016 Catalogue lists it at $22.50. Used copies are listed at $2.50 in both cases.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I thought this was unused since there is no cancel on it.

Those were the SG prices for unused, but I'm looking at a simplified catalogue, so may be missing nuances.

The original poster does not state the year of his "old catalog", but here are the Cuba listings for this issue from the 1901 Scott catalog (all the world in less than 700 small pages):

By old, I meant 2012. I should have said it's not the most current. Sorry for the confusion.

This is a bit tricky to match to SG, because there are 3 plate varieties. The one shown by OP is the 2nd retouch (i.e., the 3rd plate variety), issued sometime during 1883-1886.

The first 2 plate varieties catalog for only a couple US$. So the price quoted for SG is likely one of those.

I can confirm that the 2016 Scott has the unused price at US$22.50, and unless that is a documented plate flaw, you will need to deduct for the ink loss on the right side.
