Back Number On Hydrangeas Coil

Is it a common feature to have numbers on the back of Coils ? Bought this from Canada Post.

Here in the States it is fairly common lately, mainly because it is a pain in the you-know-what to have to count all of the leftover stamps in a coil roll. I am sure that this is the same reason in Canada - for accounting purposes.

Robin Harris has advised in the latest newsletter that the backing on both the new 50 stamp Hydrangeas coil and the continous printing 100 stamp Permanent domestic rate Beaver coil (Scott 2711) have dot matrix counting numbers at every 5th stamp.

When only 15 stamps remain on the roll, an English message "Need more?/Order at CanadaPost.ca/Shop" appears. The equivalent message in French appears when only 10 stamps remain.

Now that is interesting - something the USPS ought to be doing. Only here it needs to be in English and Spanish. I wonder if people collect these, it would be nice to see some examples of that.

People will collect almost anything. The postal administrators are counting on that to raise revenue.
