The Seven Wonders of Ancient World, 8v

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was a giant seated figure, about 12.4 m (41 ft) tall, made by the Greek sculptor Phidias around 435 BC at the sanctuary of Olympia, Greece, and erected in the Temple of Zeus there.

The statue was lost and destroyed before the end of the 6th century AD, with conflicting accounts of the date and circumstances. Details of its form are known only from ancient Greek descriptions and representations on coins and art. (wiki)

Been at Kai Tak a few times. The landing approach with the steep banking on final was interesting.

This Brazilian stamp pictures Guairá (Spanish) or Guaíra (Portuguese) Falls, which were located along the Paraná River between Brazil and Portugal. Also known as Sete Quedas (Seven Falls), the falls were a series of seven groups of cataracts that dropped approximately 375 feet in total.

The roar of the rushing water could be heard up to 20 miles away from Guairá Falls, but the completion of Itaipu Dam and subsequent submersion of the area by the artificial Itaipu Lake led to the falls' disappearance in 1982.
