Just going through my Iranian stamps and found this one.

I found it on StampWorld http://www.stampworld.com/en/stamps...pe=ANR&view=
Also found it on another site with the same style of overprint in black but for some reason it's not allowed to be posted on here.
Just wondering if it was ever issued in red. They do say it was never issued though. I'm going to guess it's a fake over print or not worth as much as the black overprint.
Thanks for any info.

God Bless Stamps and Beer.

Hi Northener,

This appears to be a forgery of Scott #318 -- the overprint on that stamp is in red. In general when the color of the overprint is other than black, Scott indicates it by putting an abbreviation for the overprint color in parentheses -- that's what the "(R)" indicates in the listing for #318.

My (old) SG lists this as 238a, handstamped in red, with no premium over the black handstamp.
