Couldn't believe my luck in uncovering these "gems" going for such a modest price. Only $1000 for both lots.

Kidding aside, I am amazed at how many people are watching these auctions.

Sometimes "filler" isn't just the currency.

I'd assume the people are watching out of curiosity to see if any sucker emerges. Kind of like the fascination of watching a toilet bowl overflow.

Dudley - I think you´re correct. Every now and then I do the same thing, just out of fascination to see what goes down. And I have seen a few sales/purchases ´out of this world´. I hope the buyers did see something extraordinary nobody else knew existed..

I'm going to take your word for it that it's fascinating, rather than trying to find out for myself...

I looked at this seller's prior feedback. He looks to be a seller dealing mainly in antiques.

I've seen this happen before. A dealer in general stuff gets a ratty stamp lot and puts it out there with a huge start or BIN price. Then if it doesn't sell he lists at a lower one.

What is wrong with this one is that I doubt he will go low enough to get a bite. I used to sometimes message the poor souls who were listing stuff like this at huge prices to gently tell them they were wasting their time, I would either get no reply or in a few cases angry ones. One threatened to report me for 'interference.'
