Anyone recognize this cancel? Is it special or just a lucky strike? The first 1937 issue may be the same as the Hitler head cancel but I'm not sure. Any info on this is appreciated. Thanks! Wolf-==-

It's a machine cancel from Nürnberg (Nuremberg). Here's a complete example. I'll post the catalog info when I get back to my catalogs.



The text translates as "city of the Reich party days", commemorating the fact that the Nazis held their annual party rally in Nürnberg.

I'd sure like to find that cancel on cover. Never seen it as such. It seems like the stamp would have to be placed in an unusual location to get the eagle directly on the stamp. Thanks for the useful information. Now I know. Cheers! Wolf-==-
