Scott #195..."Blue Nose Re-Entry"

Hi guys...We all know in Unitrade Scott 199ii is identified with "blue nose re-entry"...There are similar re-entry types in Scott # 195...Take look at this strip of 3 stamps and tell me if you think it is a so called "blue nose" affect.

And here is a Scott #93 which is not identified as having a re-entry in Unitrade...Sure looks like one to me..any comments..?

Ralph (re-entries.com) has a picture of a NORMAL 195 which looks like your set of three. The re-entry is a set of horizontal lines (not dots), and is visible in several other areas of the same stamp. See http://www.re-entries.com/medallions.html

I am not sure about the other example. It could be an engraver's slip.

I am not seeing anything unusual on your #195 1c stamps. The dots on the nose are normal. There are some very tiny differences between the positions you show but this is also normal.

The #93 you show appears to be a #95 assuming the colour is correct. If so, then this 50c value is known to have a few varieties at the top of the left frame line. In Marler's book, he describes these as a "defective transfer" and plates them to 1R25, 1R36, and 1R56.

no Scottamer...It is a 10 cent stamp.

Well that #93 has a strange purple tint for a stamp that is supposed to be basically brown with a touch of lilac. Since this is the 10c value, I could not see any specific description for what you have pictured. The Marler book does mention a few stamps with faulty upper left frame lines but they all have other significant faults as well. These are usually with the left value tablet lines. I would suggest you provide a scan of the entire stamp or some other close-ups and I may be able to plate it.

I checked my copies of Scott/Unitrade 93. Two of the three have similar features as Wert's. Here is the best/worst copy:



Instead of a re-entry or engraver's slip, it almost looks like missing ink in the vertical line just at the very top. Interesting, but could just be normal for this stamp.

"Blue nose re-entry", I was expecting a boat

Here is one that I've kept for awhile based on the doubling around the stamp. It looks like a Slip Print but when you look at the Nose Area, the cross-hatched background in the oval extends out into the white area in front of the King's nose.
