This personalized charity stamp (Marke Individuell) of the Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Staufen, Germany depicts a broken stoneware pitcher. The text reads "Staufen must not break."

In 2007, the city fathers of Staufen decided to geothermally heat city hall and carried out a drilling operation. This action had an unintended consequence. Parts of the old town have risen 5 to 12 inches, and compromised the integrity of many old structures. So, the Foundation is raising funds to try to remedy the effects of the drilling operation.

Unbroken stoneware pitchers and stamps such as the one shown here (plus the current rate stamp) are for sale at the Foundation's website.

On February 13, 1992 Denmark issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the reopening of the National Museum. The stamps show ancient objects from the Musem's collection. The low value 3.50 kr stamp (Facit #1045) depicts a circa 3200 B.C. earthenware bowl excavated at Skarpsalling.

From the stampaday.wordpress.com website, "The bowl is 19.5 cm (7.63 in) high and is decorated in the so-called Klintebak style, with several types of patterns that are done with the edge of a crossed bird-string bone. The bowl was designed to hang, as evidenced by two horizontal snore riders."
