Scott 1896 - New Ghost Print Found.

Hi guys..We all know about the ghost prints shown in Unitrade for scott 539 and 540...(always seem to be in RED print)...I was going through a big bag of stamps and came across this "ghost print" on a scott 1896, and it is not recognized in Unitrade yet.

The red inscription is ghosted, but the top line of the image also dips below the white margin where both legs are.

This is a pane stamp issue and it appears to me that the white backing paper is above the stamp, not adjacent to it.

As a pane stamp, the surrounding paper in your scan is definitely a different colour from the margins of the stamp, which isn't correct.

With the black line above the stamp in your scan not being mentioned, is it possible you've added the surrounding paper or could this be a counterfeit stamp.

Take a look at the picture in Unitrade..has the same affect.

Since these are not constant printing varieties are they listed in Unitrade?

jogil...Not sure if they are constant...Not in Unitrade like scott.539 - 540...Have to look through more of my huge bags of stamps on paper.

None of mine have the dip.

It looks like at least one of the color printing plates was just a tad out of alignment.

Correct Peter..But, everyone is soooo preoccupied with dips, alignment that you guys are missing the picture...A ghost print...Ghost print not identified in Unitrade..That is what I am trying to get across to everyone.

Submit it to Unitrade to see if it gets listed.

I would love to jogil, but me and Robin Harris don't see eye to eye..So I will just keep it with the rest of my stuff....
