I think that the price of that stamps was too low so some buyers was thinking that it is replica stamps. Also, too good condition for the stamps from that period.Try to increase starting bid. |

I did receive an immediate reply. He says he was doing a remodel job and the owner was going to throw these and other like stamps out. Claims he knows nothing about stamps. So why not get rich selling stamps on ebay. |

That is the craziest thing I have ever seen on ebay stamps and I have seen some stuff. It just is not real; it cannot be. |

He cannot keep his story straight. Starts at $20,000 says the first $25,000 takes it and then sells it at a $30,000 buy it now figure. Like Never! |

More than likely the buyer inspected the stamps prior to purchase. A dealer offered $15,500 so there is some substance in the collection. Of 19 binders, very little is shown so hard to gauge the real value. |

An interesting question - well, to me at least, but I'm dull - is what in the photos would induce a collector to give this a second glance at more than a few £s/$s? If this is legitimate, there must be some remarkable material elsewhere in the albums - £25,000 would buy a fantastic stamp collection. |

Someone who is buying £25,000 collection on blind from not well known and trusted seller with good guarantee (Dont trust anyone) must be a no brain person.
But, this is not strange to me. 99 % of the people who have old stamps think that they are very valuable because of the stamps age. So, its funny to speak withe random people selling their collections.

Geoff I'm thinking perhaps China. But no matter what, this collection was not purchased blind. |
