Saw this one today and it reminded me of the guy in France that used to sell the C3a stamps;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/26252320211...RK:MEBIDX:IT

Lesson here is "if it looks too good to be true it is!"

I did notice this guy takes Paypal, I wonder how that will work out?

There's even the inverted Jenny (Scott C3a) block of 4 with horizontal and vertical sheet center lines in the lot. Does this block still exist intact?

The C3A block image was lifted directly from this Siegel web page https://invertedjenny.com/production (go about half way down and click on image marked "Unique centerline block of Inverted Jenny". Note that this image is exactly the same one in his listing.)

The only existing center line block was, I believe, sold in 2002 to Bill Gross. http://www.columbianstamp.com/?port...verted-jenny br /

Almost all of the images show halftone dots indicating that the seller photographed images of stamps from auction catalogs or other published sources. The 24 cent inverted Jenny centerline block was last handled by the Columbian Stamp Company after being exhibited by Sonny Hagendorf. Only one exists. http://www.columbianstamp.com/?page_id=1554

At least he's an experienced seller, just over a year ago he sold a pair of shoes and got good feedback.

So if you bid and win what do you get? My guess is some lower priced stamps and nice full color picture of the rarities. Complain and he will tell you it's not his fault- that is what his grandpa collected.

He needs to be run off ebay.

What! And result in ebay forfeiting their commission on this great lot!

I contacted the seller regarding the image of the C3a center line block. While normally I don't like quoting personal messages this one is a bit too hard to summarize.

Quote:
"yes I know this., that picture is alos to have a discrpition on it stating this facts and is there only to show the one I have and the values it is "potentialy" able to raise. but thanx for pointing out the obvious as if I didn know :)"

I am not sure what he is actually trying to say but he immediately removed the image of the center line block. It may be that he simply used online images and doesn't have a way to scan/image the actual collection?

Another possibility exists; the seller just may be a lummox.

I sort of doubt it but anything's possible.
