I had pictures of the Forever 2016 classic trucks up toward top of thread but ended up with some picture "swapping" going on here.

I always had a warm spot in my heart for this 1953 commemorative 3 cent stamp honoring the trucking industry. It is such a great design.

Before the pickup trucks there were only six U.S. stamps featuring trucks, none of them pickup trucks. There are a couple in the Transportation series - a tow truck and tractor-trailer; there is the one above for the trucking industry; the postal people of the late 1960s has a postal truck; there is an early 20-cent Special Delivery stamp with a postal delivery truck (beautiful stamp!) and ... there is a tractor-trailer on the 1975 200 years of postal service set. .... I think that is it. Believe it or not - NO Army trucks and an even MORE believe it or not, NO firetruck.

Centerstage, I believe there are TWO firetrucks in the Transportation series.

THAT is right .. though I only count 1 .. that fire pumper in mind is no truck .. more like a customized cart or carriage .. horse or man pulled ...
