Why doesn't the post office lean on ebay to stop selling obvious counterfeits of us stamps. ebay member "garbua0" ebay item number: 262419453178 actually advertises: "We accept orders for manufacturing of any reproductions of postage stamps !"

They are located in the Ukraine, so they can't be shut down, but the PO could lean on ebay to stop the auctions. ebay's rule of it having to say "reproduction" on the back won't do the PO much good if someone orders a sheet of $5 stamps and uses on packages.

Any loss that a post office would suffer from illegal use of these reproductions would be a gnat's eyelash compared to the other financial challenges of that post office.

ebay isn't responsive to this sort of complaint unless it is sued.

I have little issue per se with someone selling reproductions, so long as they are in some way marked as such. I note nearly all this seller's other offers are reprints of PRC sheets. Not one I can see is marked to show they are not genuine. Most other such items on ebay have an unobtrusive mark on them so they won't be taken as real; this guy doesn't. His location is a big red flag to me; Ukraine I am sure has many fine people. In my ebay deals I have not run across any. Before I started limited my sales to just certain countries I had three transactions with buyers there, all ended badly.

I assure you that the wording is there just for ebay. If you were to buy some of these "stamps" you will not find any marks indicating it is a reproduction.
