Here is a scan of a 1949 postal card. Germany Allied - Soviet Zone.
My question is: what is the purple cancel with the crown and 4552 significance? I am quessing maybe censor? Any help appreciated.

Thanks for help.

The destination (Neumünster) was in the British Zone, and the crown would lead me to believe it's a British mark.

Another example of a British mark from roughly the same time period.

Very interesting violet marking on this postal card. Looks like an altered British censor stamp from the receiving post office in Neumuenster. Never seen or read about this one before.

This postal card was cancelled a little less than 6 months before Soviet-occupiued eastern Germany became the Deutsche Demokratische Republik on October 7, 1949...and about a month before the western zones became the BundesRepublik on May, 23, 1949.
