Ten points to this online vendor from France.
Re-use of Parcel packaging.

Not sure how he / she did it, but the stamp underneath appears undamaged.

Shall try to lift both using the American product "Un-do" and post back.

Save the environment.

Limited success.
Un-do would not lift the "sellotape" from the under label, without lifting the printing.

I'm with Chris2015 - works of art indeed! Thank you Rod

Outside of New South Wales, 19th century France is my favourite area these days. The trick is not to give in to the temptation of starting a postal history collection......

Great work, as always, Rod. I have not started to inventory my "France" stamps yet......lots of work.....I am waiting for Blaamand to finish his pages. I do not intend to use the Scott Inteernaational Albums because of lack of proper spaces for varieties etc. So I will make my own pages or use those of a friend

Understatement

Rene,
good luck with that.... a huge challenge, I just scrape the surface, wait till you encounter "La Sameuse", instant headache.

Blessings to Steiner, it has me avoiding the trouble of page design.

another series of wonderful postings Rod. As someone said earlier these French stamps are real works of art. And they look so good on the Steiner pages, there is space for them to breathe and a thoughtful layout.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Crispin.
Thanks for those nice words.

Apologies if I have confused, these are not Steiner Pages,
I have tried to give approximate Steiner references.

These may be Shaubeck Pages ? (Note no text at all)
They were so nice, when I purchased them, I tried to complete and keep in context.
Some time or another, I'll have to go back to the white Steiner. I have no idea where to source further pages.

Yes, France maintains its overall reputation as an arts centre, in many facets, including Philately.

Rid - These don't look like Schaubek to me. I'd guess Kabe. Available from Lighthouse, but horribly expensive.

That's "Rod", not "Rid", of course. Sorry, my arms are now so long I can't type properly.

Hi Rod,

don't apologise, that's my fault for making assumptions. As your other pages that I've been following with great interest are Steiner and these have a similar feel I assumed that was the case.

Steiner does seem to be the only option if you want to have nice looking pages unless you get lucky and find some posher albums with only a few stamps or empty at a good cost.

I am still working on adding images to the new Stamp Smarter 'Stamps of France' online database, but SCF members can see a sneak peek here http://www.stampsmarter.com/feature...nceHome.html . It allows users to lookup stamps by Scott number, Yvert number, or Michel number. And of course it also supports 'search by description keyword'.
