Any early Iran are fakes or forgeries 99 % of the time ,especially if you got them in a collection or mixture lot . If you didn't pay decent money for them with certificates then they are fakes . Sorry to tell you every collection or mixture lot has been inspected and checked over the last 30 years about 5 times before you ever viewed it ,in most cases . |

I have an album full of just Persia - I'm no expert, but greatly admire their stamps up to around 1970. I haven't even bothered checking my very old ones - I just assume they are all fakes. I hope yours are not, but at a glance they look fresh and clean, like they were just run off the press. |

Thank you for all your comments. Actually, the stamps are not very clean and collorful, it is my scanner very good )))) The paper of the stamps is interesting - extremely tin... 4 of these stamps has a gum...))) What's the point of making forgeries like these?Just to fulfill albums making them look completed? I was thinking to ask about Saudi Arabian stamps, but double checked and found that my "oldies" are canceled, so... at least some hope that Saudi Arabian stamps are real. |

Aurora, post a couple of your Saudi stamps. Can not hurt a thing, and you know what you have if we can see them and comment.

Quote: Saudi Arabian stamps (a few of the all that I have). I will appreciate any comments. Thank you. Fascinating ID on the pictorials. In the top right corner lies the "Tughra" monogram / seal of the then current Sultan. The ID for you King Faisal King Saud |

Mr. Stang, !! If be honest - ...at the time of reviewing and organizing my stamp collection I used to put aside the glassine envelopes with stamps of Persia, Iran, Iraq...Saudi... I am sure, I saw the portrets of the King (?) or President (?) - the Man that is shown in your last comment. I remember - I saw him on the stamps a few times...on many stamps... It is fantastic that you offered your help....and Lucky me (!!) - I do not remember in which exactly box I put the little envelopes with the stamps!! Alphabetically... I had to organize everything alphabetically, not in accordance to the importance, "maybe later", "when I will have a free time", etc. I will find the stamps, just give me some time. |
