Hello all,
I've been looking & can't find any info. on which way is normal for this Scott E5. This one is sideways is that the correct direction for the Sc191 wmk. on these ?

Vertical (sideways) watermarks are normal. Horizontal (reading across) watermarks may also exist. A stamp with a horizontal watermark will be slightly taller and slightly narrower than one with a vertical watermark. This is because watermarks are aligned with the paper grain (mesh) direction. Because stamps were printed on damp paper, shrinkage across the grain would occur after printing and before gumming and perforating.

I'm removing the last of my US stamp hinges at the moment & you see a lot more while in the water ;) This on a Sc304 5c blue.
