Hi nigelc

Google led me to the following in a very useful article by Jan Mascini on the postal history of stamps of Mount Athos:

Thanks for the above pointer, just read the article by Mascini. Its certainly an eye opener as far as these Mt. Athos overprints are concerned.

Has anyone a cover which shows their usage?

Andrew

Just placed an order for the two volume 2016 Isfila catalog

Having it shipped to my sister-in-law in Turkey, then my mother-in-law will hand-carry it to me in the U.S. when she comes to visit in May

That's a nice stamp Rod.

Scott has classified this incorrectly as a postage due (although it essentially admits this in a note!)

It's a postage stamp surcharged as a postage due but subsequently surcharged again for postal use.

Nigel,
Sheesh! what a revelation. Did not occur to me.
You have an amazing ability to see the bigger picture.
I am suitably impressed Nigel.
Good to have you around.

I'll make a note, on Album Page

You're up a bit late tonight Rod...perhaps some sleep is needed?!?

Your B5 is B10...

Your B7 is nice. A double overprint. Not common, but not rare. No, our friends at Scott don't cover it as yet. B7a is 'Inverted Overprint' and B7b is 'Double Overprint, one inverted'. Some of the later Isfila editions (maybe yours??) has covered this...

Thanks Rod, that's very kind of you. I just need to get my Turkey collection in order and develop a want list.

Goodness me, how easy is it, to get into trouble in Philately ?

Thank you (Always the "gap" and "No gap" between Sc# Types A21 and A19 that trips me up)
