Wow - awesome picture Rod! That will definitely help. 6 more very clear examples of a PTT bulls-head overprint - 5 of which are handstamped. We can assume the pix in the cat are legit!!

I can't get into the intricacies of printing methods & techniques - far above my pay grade. But compare SE87 with the 5 handstamped pictures. Not as clear as with Turkey in Asia, but still very clear to me...

TL 2700 is currently app $692. No idea about Aussie $?!?

Even before we start worrying about whether it is real or not - do they list a 'used' value?? (That would answer the question quickly!)

Compared to the cat pictures, yours looks like a 'creation' to me. But definitely seek more expert opinions on this one!

Rod - one important side note for you on your new catalog & the pricing supplement:

All values (I assume?) are listed in TL. Welcome to the world of unstable currencies!

Check the publication date of the catalog - the TL prices are as of that date. When converting to your favorite 'stable' currency, you want to use the exchange rate from that date. If you use the 'current' rate, it will be a bit lower!

Not a big difference yet, as the catalog is relatively new - but the difference gets larger on a daily basis...

No, they do not, Turkish Varieties "Used" are always in the minority.

But it would increase my value threefold ? :)

I may seek advice from ONEPS, or if they care to offer an opinion.
Not sure how much a Certificate would cost? any ideas?

!! Put your glasses back on!!

It isn't TL2700....it's TL7200!!!

Value just shot up to $1846 - and that's for mint!

(Wild stamp value fluctuations?!?!!!) (Who knows what the used value is worth?!)

Oneps would be a good start. No clue on cert costs - ask them!

On the 1st Republic discussion:

2 blocks that hopefully a printing expert could use to understand something more about the printing method?

Super ! Michael........

Not seen any of this material before,
the advantage of living in the country, no doubt.

Thanks for sharing with us.

I see your point about the #857...feeling less confident.

The 20 paras with what the British call the "Jubilee Line"
I wonder if they were the preserve of letterpress only?
(To strengthen the printing plate / forme)

I don't recall seeing them on Lithographs before.

I also wonder, how the stamp impressions, travelled between the three printing houses.. Not seen that discussed prior.

Top one is just a Hedjaz revenue...without overprint, it isn't turkey in asia...

Bottom one - looks like proportional fee stamp? A pair? But appears we can only see the top part of the stamps??

$8 seems a bit pricey if these are the only items you want...
