Quote: An unusual (for here, at least), but rather pricey mint lot Best collection I have seen Geoff. Splendid material, Awful presentation by the auctioneer, images scroll without page numbers. From what I can see well worth the reserve. As some describe..."fresh" |

Yes, images of collections on most of the sites I look at are pretty disappointing. The assumption is still that you're there and looking, whereas most of their business must be via e-mail, agents etc. However, I've had pretty decent purchases from W&W over the years, and their service is excellent. |

Nice collection would need a lot of time to study the scans to find out what is in complete sets or if the better stamps are there . |

So how about a game of Spot - the - Gem?! https://media.philamatthijs.be/op/733-11.jpg Can't get the link as the auction is over. So not showing 6 more pictures of common stamps - only showing relevant picture - makes the game easier!! Lot sold for $20.49 + S&H. All for one stamp... An extreme rarity - that I have seen only a few times. I was outbid due to cheapskate-ness, enhanced by the very poor pictures & general unwillingness to bid at true value! Scott # will suffice... |

B25 ?
I share your caution, I am constantly met with poor scans of Turkey, especially on pages, and you just have to take a punt on the outcome. My forgery of the 25pi is a typical scenario.
That said, if it is B25, I would have risked a tad more, but dashed if I can see it is a 1908 stamp.

Quote: ROD -Just put up my Russian Offices in TURKISH EMPIRE . Indeed, and what a show stopper. With what is shown, a perfect collection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Just had an email, I won 500 Turkey stamps, at auction, for $1.99 + ship. I wasn't expecting that. |

I don't know why I am risking that feeling of being back in math class... My favorite answer there was "3"?
But yolo. Scott# 342a? |

Nicely done Raymodj...342a it is. You must've been a whiz in math class?!!
This variation is the 1st stamp in the 3rd row. The full series is in the 2nd row. This one was overprinted on Scott #162, as opposed to the normal 153.
2017 CV is $110.
The first 3 stamps in the series all have variants like this - overprinted on a different stamp. You rarely see these... |
